Inspiring the next generation of girls in tech.

Tech feels irrelevant to too many girls. We're changing that.
Only 21% of girls took Computer Science GCSE last year.
It’s not a competence gap — it’s a confidence and connection gap.
Join us in calling for curriculum reform.

We’re reimagining how girls see tech, through role models they relate to and industries they care about.

Tech isn’t just wires and code, it’s creativity, identity, and solving real problems.

At Recode the Curriculum, girls will design digital clothing, experiment with beauty tech, tackle everyday health challenges, and develop their own app ideas, all through hands-on, playful activities.

They’ll explore how AI can automate everyday tasks, how tech can make life simpler, and how fashion tools like digital wardrobes can solve real frustrations.

From styling solutions to biotech breakthroughs, they’ll be empowered to see tech not just as something to use, but as something to shape, on their own terms.

A few great THINGS

Our mission

We believe the future of tech needs more girls — not just as coders, but as leaders, critical thinkersm, creators, and entrepreneurs.

That means giving them:

  • Confidence to take creative risks

  • Opportunities to experiment and lead
  • Role models they can relate to

01

Only 0.3% of UK AI VC funding goes to all-female teams

02

Just 15% of girls take Computer Science A-Level

03

Since ICT was renamed Computer Science, girls’ participation dropped from 43% to 21%

04

China teaches AI in schools — the UK is falling behind

05

This isn’t just a pipeline issue. It’s a perception and curriculum issue. Tech feels distant, unrelatable and that’s what we’re here to change.

First Event

May 7, 2025
Francis Holland School, London

Our pilot event will bring together five phenomenal female founders to speak, share their journeys, and lead hands-on workshops with students.

Girls will explore how to bring ideas to life — from building biotech tools and fashion apps to understanding funding, branding, and taking real products to market.

Following the event, we will conduct a survey with attendees to measure the impact on their confidence, creativity, and perception of tech.

Meet the Founding Circle of Recode the Curriculum” – bringing together leaders from biotech, beauty tech, fashion, and AI to close the gender gap in STEM.

  • Stasa Stankovic, Co-Founder of OvartiX, developing therapeutics to unlock fertility and delay menopause.
  • Dr Alex Box , founder of V-Metics Beauty, the world’s first virtual cosmetic software.
  • Simone Oloman, Co-Founder of NIFT, a 90-minute fashion delivery app.
  • Bianca Whering, Founder of Whering, a digital wardrobe app with over 1M downloads.
  • Louise Laing Founder of Phygen and PhygitalTwin, a platform that turns fashion designs into physical products or immersive in-game assets within seconds.

What’s next

We’re building a national programme of events, with more workshops, founders, and interactive sessions across schools and communities.

Because if we don’t act now, we risk raising another generation of girls who believe tech isn’t for them — and that’s a future none of us can afford.

“Only by building out pathways for an inclusive future in technology can we reap the benefits of a new generation of female leaders, investors, deal makers and entrepreneurs in STEM.”

Bianca Rangecroft

“If we don’t act now, we risk raising another generation of girls who think tech isn’t for them—a future we can’t afford.”

Louise Laing

“Girls should grow up knowing they have the power to shape the future of tech – by contributing ideas, solving real-world problems, and designing systems that will define tomorrow.”

Simone Oloman

“By building the tools, we shape the future , preserving the human hand in a digital era ensures that future remains authentically ours.”

Dr Alex Box

“I was once that girl—curious, unsure, full of dreams. Today, I’m building the future of women’s health through biotech. We owe it to the next generation to show them that their ideas belong in tech, and that they do too.”
